A balance of broad and specialised knowledge, skills, attitudes and values.
We are facing unprecedented social, economic and environmental challenges. At the same time, we are also surrounded by new opportunities. The future is uncertain but one thing is sure: our children need to be ready for it.
Our job as a school is to prepare them to evaluate situations, face challenges, make confident and well-informed decisions, find solutions and seize opportunities.
As educators, we feel a sense of urgency to equip our students with the competencies, attitudes and values they will need to be active, responsible and engaged citizens, able to shape their own lives as well contribute to the wellbeing of others.
From Foundation to Sixth Form
Educating Game Changers
The world needs open-minded, creative and adaptable problem solvers who are able to work with others and draw on existing knowledge to find ways to achieve sustainable, ethical and inclusive development.
We understand that future-ready students will need a balanced mix of broad and specialised knowledge.
Students will require disciplinary knowledge to develop new knowledge, but they will also need to think across the boundaries of each discipline and find connections. They will need a broad mix of critical and creative thinking, social and emotional skills, and practical skills in order to navigate new and evolving circumstances. They will need strong human values to act and thrive in a diverse, global environment with a multitude of cultural perspectives and personal traits.
Here at Amity we want our curriculum to produce game-changers and risk-takers who are able to respond to the problems of the present and the future, fight the climate crisis and transform society.
The world has changed, and schools must as well. We need to become agile, challenge what we have always done and do it differently. This is exactly what Amity International School is now focusing on.
An Amity education is so much more than subjects: it is about the whole student.
Our teaching and learning model is based on a holistic approach that brings life skills to the classroom to prepare young people to face challenges and seize opportunities. An Amity education is an amazing journey made of experiences that come together through a carefully crafted programme that includes a strong curriculum, a broad co-curriculum and a mind-broadening Amity Diploma and Horizon Programme. Learning takes place not only in the classroom, but also in the Boathouse, the Auditorium, the Olympic-size swimming pool, the learning hub in the Sixth Form Centre or outside at the bay.
Pedagogy underpins everything that we do at Amity, but we also believe in the fundamental importance of knowing our students, how they learn, what they need, what they like and dislike. We listen to their voice. We pause and listen, and we work with them to inspire and engage them in their own education.
We are delighted to celebrate outstanding GCSE and iGCSE results of the 2021-2022 cohort. Guided by our experienced specialist Heads of Departments and teachers, our students achieved excellent results in their Oxford AQA and Edexcel examinations, one third of which were graded 8 or 9, the highest grades possible at GCSE level.
